CHAINING UP A CHAIN HOIST
The Wheel cover assembly is removed from the hoist body.
Hand/messenger chain is then fitted to the hand wheel according to user requirement.
The hand/messenger chain is then closed in a loop by adding a cut link and then closing the link.
Calibrated load chain is then fed between the load sheave and guide roller according to user requirement which will determine the lift/length of chain on the hoist.
Before securing the dead end of the chain to the stopper the technician ensures that the chain was fed correctly (chain weld is away from the load sheave).
The wheel cover assembly is then refitted and secured in place.
The bottom hook set is then fitted and secured to the load chain.
Once assembly is complete an ECSA registered Lifting Machinery Inspector performs a dynamic load test in compliance with relevant standards.
